We recently inherited a 70 year old Seth Thomas Steeple Clock that my parents purchased new in 1950. It had been... inoperable for years. I brought it in to Maryland Clock and Watch to see if they could get it up and running. They did and for a fair price. Not only was it repaired but the owner provided a 15 minute tutorial on how to maintain and operate it. They also provided a 3 year warranty. I highly recommend Maryland Clock and Watch. Maryland Clock was a welcome discovery. They managed to repair my old Cyma watch where others had failed, and for a... very reasonable price. I also purchased a Tiffany mantle clock from them. Both people came to the clock site at one time or the other. I found them to be courteous and full of correct... information. Price quoted was explained and a workable payment plan was worked out. It took the expected time to repair the grandfather clock at the shop and re delivery was efficient and on time. The technician explained how to set up the clock works as he did so in my home. How to do minor adjustments was also explained. The warranty was discussed. The clock has been keeping time and the chimes sound wonderfully tuned. Thanks.read more

My father crafted a grandfather clock in 1976 with a quality movement. I inherited the clock upon his death. The clock... was running but stopped often. Maryland Clock and Watch came to my home for diagnosis recommending the movement to be overhauled. They showed me the worn bushings causing misalignment of gears. I suspect my dad never maintained the movement. My father’s grandfather clock has operated flawlessly since the work done on it!read more

I have had my antique mantle clock to your shop several times. It is finally worn out and I have decided not to have it... completely re-made. I do want to thank you for offering to change the time twice a year for me and for replacing the brass works with a small battery powered clock which will allow me to see the time from quite far. Thanks too for carrying it to the car while I held the rail back to the parking area. You do take good care of your customers!read more

It was time to get my 65 year old pocket watch serviced. These time pieces are amazing little precision machines that... require cleaning and lubrication about every 5 years. Turned in watches for repair and they weren't touched for months. Owner called me personally and apologized and tried... to fix the issue. He guaranteed the watches would be done in 14 days. I gave them to him on December 23, 2020 and he called me January 23, 2020. Far cry from the 14 days promised (via email no less) but I'll let you decide. Here is how I received one watch back from them, the back wasn't even put back on! Sheesh!read more

I have a grandfather clock that has not worked for many years. I contacted 3 clock repair companies and Maryland Clock... and Watch Repair was the first one to get back to me. That was my lucky day.A date and time was scheduled and Nick contacted me to let me know he was on his way and if it was ok that he was a few minutes early. He treated my clock like it was made of fine china. He took pictures, explained in detail what was required to fix the clock and quoted a fair price for the repair.The clock was returned within the time frame promised. (Was a day or two over, but it was over a holiday) He spent a lot of time going over the care on maintenance of my clock. I was given written instruction and phone numbers to call if I had any questions. Nick is meticulous. He cleaned the case, glass and every surface of the clock. I received 3 follow up phone calls to insure that my clock was was keeping perfect time. I highly recommend Maryland Clock and Watch Repair.read more

Nick Haitis serviced our 19 year old Howard Miller 610-698 grandfather clock. The hour chimes stopped working.Nick... was prompt and full of knowledge. The good news was that he got it working and cleaned it up. The bad news was that the gears were grinding because of improper maintenance throughout the years. He documented his conclusions by physically showing us the problem.We were given a detailed invoice (with pictures) with our options. In no way were we pressured into anything.I would certainly use the company in the future.read more
